When making plates, Warren’s proprietary recirculating system continually circulates the same small amount of water resulting in zero waste water.
Soy based inks help eliminate harmful emissions and chemical heavy clean up. They are VOC free and exclusive to waterless inks.
Before running your job, the press has to be prepared and calibrated. Waterless printing acheives optimal ink density faster, saving both paper and time. Colour calibration can be saved to further speed up reprints.
Traditional printing requires the use of a dampening system to support the ink on the plates. Waterless printing uses a hybrid plate that supports ink without the use of a dampener. This eliminates the need for chemical additives and dampening solutions, eliminating the use of up to 80,000 litres of water that would be used by a single traditional 40″ press.
With minimal dot gain, Waterless printing can use a higher line screen. Combined with better register control and a wider colour range, the result is sharper impressons with more depth and better colour consistency.
Since 2011, Warren’s has offset 92 tonnes of CO2 emissions to achieve certified carbon-neutral status. Warren’s Waterless has also been certified by the City of Toronto as a Zero-Discharge facility.
Warren’s has implemented a “blanket washing” clean-up method that eliminates excessive chemical wastage typical of the common “trickle-down” method of cleaning.
Warren’s dedication to Environmental Management Programs means that any waste ink is collected and sent for recycling rather than disposed of.

Compared to a traditional printer press of the same size, Warren’s eliminates the use of 200,000 litres of water annually. To date, Warren’s Waterless has saved in excess of 2.5 million litres of water.
